After identifying a faculty member whose research interests align with desired independent study topic, the student will work with faculty to create a course plan. Students are required to register for independent study credits within the first week of classes for the semester. To register students must complete the Independent Study Learning Contract, attach a syllabus, reading list, assessments or any other supporting documentation. Submit the completed form and supporting materials to Student Services. Once the Department Chair has approved of the course, Student Services will contact you to register for the independent study credits (PLAN 896). Students cannot register for independent study credits after the first week of the semester.
