Description
The Palm Beach TPA is seeking an outstanding planning leader to join the team responsible for collaboratively planning, prioritizing and funding the transportation system of Palm Beach County, FL.
The Position
The Deputy Director of Multimodal Development directs the planning activities for the TPA related to the multimodal transportation planning initiatives.
Primary responsibilities include leading the consideration and implementation of a dedicated local transportation revenue source, overseeing TPA efforts to advance public and private transit projects; overseeing TPA efforts for non-motorized infrastructure and activities; overseeing multimodal initiatives, including corridor studies, Complete Streets, TOD, Shared Mobility, and first-last mile connections; and performing other tasks as detailed at www.PalmBeachTPA.org/jobs.
Work is performed with a great deal of independence and initiative under the direction of the Executive Director.
Candidates
Successful candidates will have seven (7) or more years of professional planning experience, including three (3) years supervisory experience, and a Bachelor’s Degree in urban/regional planning, transportation engineering, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ideal candidates will:
-Have experience planning and implementing premium transit systems;
-Have experience planning and implementing pedestrian and bicycle facilities;
-Be familiar with Complete Streets, Vision Zero, & Safe Routes to School initiatives;
-Have knowledge of Federal and State funding programs and regulations;
-Have knowledge of Florida Design standards for state and local roadways;
-Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in readily understandable plans and reports;
-Be skillful using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite;
-Possess a related graduate degree and/or AICP certification;
-Be committed to effective working relationships with people of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds without discrimination; and
-Have experience working with a Metropolitan Planning Organization.
