Senior Transportation Planner

This position is located in the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), Planning and Sustainability Division (PSD), Project Planning Branch. The incumbent provides leadership in delivering transportation planning projects within the conceptual design phase of project development. The incumbent should have both an urban planning and civil/traffic engineering background and skills to conduct multimodal safety and design projects.

The five primary responsibilities with the Project Planning Branch include Project Management, development and evaluation of conceptual design alternatives, community engagement, environmental evaluation and approvals and initial right-of-way evaluation. Serves as a technical advisor for multimodal design and transportation planning projects. Ensures that all plans and policies will further the District’s Vision Zero goals.
