Description: When experts talk about student debt in the U.S. we hear terms like “wave”, “bubble”, and “sweatbox”. Why is student debt growing so fast and why is it quickly becoming a major civil rights issue? What are the community and economic impacts of 44 million Americans carrying student debt, 25% of whom are unable to make any progress in repayment years after leaving school? The policy debate around “fixing the student debt problem” will be outlined. Students are encouraged to ask any question they may have about their own student loans.
