Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) have increasingly been implemented to protect and restore ecosystems worldwide, producing complex impacts and feedbacks on socioeconomic and environmental outcomes. Dr. Chen will discuss China’s two nationwide PES programs and their impacts on human livelihoods, the environment and complex human-environment interactions.
