Coastal Resilience Specialist

The Coastal Resilience Specialist will develop extension programming that helps North Carolina coastal communities identify actionable steps that can be taken to reduce vulnerability to natural hazards (e.g., flooding, hurricanes, sea level rise, and wildfires). This can include the coordination of applied research to discover solutions and support decisions. Extension services will be provided at multiple jurisdictions/scales (i.e., local, state, and regional). Audiences served include coastal and watershed communities, public/private land owners, and managers of critical infrastructure or natural resources in the coastal region.
