Deputy Planning Director

Cumberland County is hiring for a Deputy Planning Director. We are a staff of roughly 50 employees covering all bases of planning and land development regulation; from land use, zoning, transportation, code enforcement, street/addressing coordination, and building inspections. This position will assist me in a full range of departmental projects, but will be directly supervising the building, code enforcement, and central permitting functions. This position manages 3 direct reports with a staff of roughly 25 people. We provide all the aforementioned duties to the unincorporated area of Cumberland County and 8 municipalities through mutual aid agreements. We also work jointly with Ft. Bragg on joint land use concerns. This is a great opportunity to work in a restructuring department with an eager, fun, and highly supportive staff
