Long Range Planning Manager

The Town of Wake Forest is in one of the fastest growing regions in the country and over the past few decades has transformed from a small, rural town into a diverse residential community with an estimated population greater than 45,000.  To better plan and respond to this rapid growth, the Town is looking to hire a Long Range Planning Manager to oversee a newly created division within the Planning Department. Specifically, this position will oversee staff or directly manage affordable housing implementation, brownfield programing, comprehensive plan development and implementation, transportation planning, public transit, population projections, as well as other traditional long range planning services.

Education & Experience: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in urban and regional planning, geography, architecture, or related field with considerable professional planning experience is required. A master’s degree is preferred.

AICP certification or the ability to be obtained within one year of employment is required.
