Description

This position requires experience in the following: cross-sector planning (community and economic development, resilience, etc.), project management of multiple and complex projects, facilitation and engagement, project and scope development, GIS and other skills necessary to be successful in a government-client focused, high-paced engineering firm. A successful candidate should be able to function as a team player as well as independently upon receiving general supervision from senior management.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs advanced professional work related to variety of planning and grant assignments. Works in areas relating to natural/water resources planning, resilience, community and economic development, hazard mitigation and others.

  • Serves as project manager for all aspects of local and Tribal Hazard Mitigation Plans.

  • Ability to organize and write clear, concise technical reports for delivery to customers is essential, with direct authoring of reports is required.

  • Knowledge and experience in Federal Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) including the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) and Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC).

  • Conducts research and prepares statistical reports and maps on land use, physical, social and economic issues.

  • Project development and management from conception through completion, including grant writing and budget development.

  • Provides professional planning assistance to communities on varied risk reduction projects.

  • Develops a variety of regional and local plans, studies and analyses across planning sectors.

  • Participates in a variety of relevant meetings, task forces and other groups to provide technical assistance and expertise.

  • Schedules and conducts meetings with advisory boards, stakeholders and elected officials

  • May attend evening and weekend meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

6+ years of experience (Education and specialized FEMA hazard mitigation experience may be accepted in lieu of general planning and/or grants experience)

Software

Knowledge of computer hardware and software programs, which may include Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Internet applications, econometric or transportation modeling, database management, or GIS programs. Knowledge of FEMA GO, HAZUS, and FEMA Benefit Cost Analysis v 6.0 is a plus.

Must be willing to relocate to Tulsa or Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
