Planner II-Long Range Planner

The Town of Wake Forest seeks an energetic and team oriented individual for the position of Planner II-Long Range Planner. Work requires knowledge of the advanced principles and practices of long-range, transportation, and transit planning and the relationship between long-range and current planning; considerable knowledge of GIS, sketch-up, Adobe, and Microsoft Office and knowledge of current literature and recent developments in the field of planning.  The ability to interpret and analyze technical information and to prepare and present technical oral and written reports and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, elected officials, partner agencies, and the general public.

Work is performed under the general direction of the Long Range Planning Manager.  Education and Experience:  Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in planning, public administration, geography, landscaping, or related field with considerable professional planning experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A master’s degree in urban planning or related field and AICP is preferred.

Hours of work: Monday- Friday, 8:00am- 5:00pm.  The Town offers an excellent benefits package.
