Supervisory Policy Advisor

In the position of Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for serving as a primary source of high-level policy advice and expertise to Executive-level personnel on complex programmatic matters relative to the Agency. Typical duties include:

Planning, initiating, and coordinating comprehensive management and program evaluation studies
Refining and adjusting internal guidelines, as needed, and recommending the development of new or substantially modified policies, methods, and systems to support operational needs
Evaluating results and preparing well-documented recommendations for major program and related policy changes
Representing the Executive in senior level working groups that span matters of FEMA-wide policy to include legislated initiatives and resource investments
Maintaining continuing liaison with officials of other Federal, state, and local agencies; other professional organizations; research scholars; and social science professionals in private and academic settings to develop operationally beneficial information and resource sharing
