Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists Design team with long-range plans including master plan, small area plans, neighborhood plans, pedestrian plans, comprehensive plans, transportation plans, parks & greenway plans, consolidated plans, corridor plans, etc.
- Assists with Public Project implementation by creating conceptual site plans, preparing maps, participating in community input sessions, conducting site analysis on potential community development properties, and preparing RFPs and RFQs, drafting contracts, and working with a variety of external agencies to execute contracts.
- Prepares a variety of marketing materials, including newsletters, advertisements, brochures, and other related collateral material.
- Coordinates citizen participation in urban design related projects and attends citizen group meetings to gather input from the community on long-range plans.
- Assists in technical writing for long-range plans including small area and multi-use corridor plans.
- May attend meetings with developers, property owners and other key stakeholders to provide concept level design assistance
- Operating a computer and applicable software applications
- Assist in preparing comprehensive designs, plans and studies
- Collecting, compiling and analyzing data
- Conducting research, developing plans and preparing technical reports
- Coordinating public meetings and citizen activities
- Preparing a variety of presentations
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Licensing and Certifications:
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture or related field, from an accredited college or university, with at least one (1) year of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
