Beyond the Trolley Problem: Why Vehicles Must Be Ethical
Kurt Gray
Associate Professor, UNC Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, UNC-CH
Although substantial attention has been paid to the ethical implications of automated vehicles making crash decisions, little research has gone beyond this necessary but limited topic. A host of ethical concerns, from human-machine interfacing to data collection, attend vehicle automation. In this final session, Dr. Kurt Gray will discuss these implications and the need for ethical guidance in automation.
