Description

Under the general direction of the Aeronautics Division Chief, the incumbent performs a variety of complex planning and technical functions including administering California Airport Noise Regulations, evaluating aircraft noise studies, and preparing recommendations for noise variance issues. From the perspective of noise impacts, safety, and other environmental hazards incumbent will lead California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) reviews at Agency level, for Caltrans funded projects, and airport permit applications. The incumbent will be the program lead and subject matter expert on sustainable fuels and equity considerations for Aeronautics. The incumbent has a deep commitment to Caltrans’ strategic goals and vision, providing excellent customer service, and advancing equity through all efforts.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Transportation Planner Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
