The Center for Workforce and Economic Opportunity (CWEO) at the Atlanta Fed is hiring the inaugural Fellow. The research center at the Fed focuses on understanding the labor market trends and potential policies and programs that can help expand worker and economic opportunities. The Atlanta Fed has been building efforts in workforce development, economic opportunity and employment policy across the country and Federal Reserve System for several years. This includes the recent Investing in America’s Workforce initiative, which a number of members of this message board contributed to. The CWEO is undergoing a relatively significant expansion including launching a new engagement arm to activate research that happens at the Center. Personally, I can say that for people interested in this type of research, the Fed has been a welcoming place and has valued the perspectives that planners bring to understanding community and economic development and provided support and opportunities for research and writing.
