The City of Houston’s Department of Housing and Community Development (HCDD) seeks to create a city in which every resident has an affordable home in a community where they can thrive. Partnering with non-profit, governmental, and local entities, HCDD seeks to strengthen Houston’s neighborhoods, provide true housing choice and execute the Mayor’s vision for One Houston with complete communities throughout. Since Hurricane Harvey, HCDD is managing more than one billion dollars that are dedicated to helping low and moderate-income families recover.

To achieve this mission, the Planning and Grants Management Division is looking to fill an Administrative Coordinator (Senior Planner Disaster Recovery (DR)) position. We are seeking a well-qualified candidate to join a team of talented individuals committed to and responsible for HCDD’s disaster recovery planning efforts. This person will employ advanced planning principles, techniques, and theories to assist this team in continuing to deliver outstanding work on behalf of the City, HCDD, and the residents of Houston, through the management of HCDD’s disaster recovery grant related planning documents and activities. Candidates should possess exceptional writing and analytical abilities; data evaluation, interpretation, and presentation skills; and strong organization and prioritization skills.
