Description

The United Nations Foundation links the UN’s work with others around the world, mobilizing the energy and expertise of business and non-governmental organizations to help the UN tackle issues including climate change, global health, peace and security, women’s empowerment, poverty eradication, energy access, and U.S.-UN relations.

The U.S. Climate Alliance is a bipartisan coalition of 25 governors committed to upholding the goals of the Paris Agreement. The U.S. Climate Alliance secretariat provides strategic, convening, analytical and other functions to support Alliance states in making progress on their climate priorities. The Alliance is housed at UNF, which serves as the initiative’s fiduciary. For more information on the Alliance, please visit www.usclimatealliance.org.

In support of the U.S. Climate Alliance, the intern may:

Conduct research and analysis on state climate policies, including on clean energy, energy efficiency, natural and working lands, short-lived climate pollutants, climate resilience and advanced transportation;
Prepare briefing memos, presentations, talking points, and Q&A on specific issue areas or to prepare for meetings, and brief the Executive Director or Alliance States as appropriate;
Support the Alliance’s social media presence, including by drafting blogs, preparing tweets, and maintaining our website;
Assist with managing program data, including contacts, materials, records, etc.;
Represent the Alliance at energy and climate-related events or calls, and take timely and concise notes;
Provide administrative and event management support as needed, including meeting scheduling; and
Other duties as assigned.
