Position Highlights:
As a Transportation Planner at Stewart, you will be part of a growing Planning Discipline that works on many interesting and complex projects all across the state of North Carolina. You will be challenged with a diverse portfolio of projects varying from bridge replacements and intersection improvements to interchange reconfigurations and lengthy widening projects. You will be exposed to Stewart’s industry leading effort of bringing ADA compliance documentation to municipalities. Because of the diverse portfolio, you will gain a broad spectrum of experience in the various types of planning documentation. You will be encouraged to think creatively and make innovative suggestions on the projects you are involved in.  This position requires someone who is energetic, self-directed, success focused and ready help us become the premier Transportation Planning Firm in the State.
Position Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be working with a collaborative team of engineers and planners to deliver projects efficiently and effectively. Stewart is unique in the way our planners and designers work as a team throughout the project development process. One example of this is our feasibility study efforts that require planners and engineers to work hand-in-hand to deliver for our clients. Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in GIS software
  • Strong written and oral communications skills are required.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Ability to walk through difficult terrain for over one mile preferred.
  • Working towards American Institute of Certified Planning (AICP) credentials
  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning or related field.
  • 0 to 5 years of experience in transportation planning.
  • Experience working with NCDOT and NEPA projects preferred
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
