DDOT is looking for a recent graduate for this role, a backfill for a DCRP graduate. The work ranges from public space activation, pedestrian/bicycle planning studies, and development review. Official description:

Leads neighborhood-scale transportation planning studies focused on improving safety and mobility through short- and medium-term improvements including the use of tactical materials. Responsibilities include developing scopes of work for consultants, analyzing data, leading intra-agency coordination, developing project recommendations, managing project implementation, and presenting to the community. Reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations to decision bodies about private development impacts to the District’s multi-modal transportation network and public space. Reviews applications for public space permits for compliance with District standards.

Establishes policies, standards, and guidelines for streetscapes to support safe, multimodal, and vibrant public spaces. Supports DDOT’s expanding roster of public space activation programs including Open Streets, Arts in the Right of Way (AROW), and Streateries. Serves as a Ward planner for up to two District of Columbia Wards. Responsibilities include developing a mastery of ongoing projects and transportation issues within the Wards, providing design review of DDOT capital project projects, and analyzing and recommending solutions to safety and mobility issues identified by a variety of stakeholders.
