The MBTA is hiring for an Analyst to support the analysis and integration of a variety of data sources and technology solutions to strengthen agency decision-making and improve the overall transparency of the MBTA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP). The CIP is a short-term, financially constrained capital plan that allows the MBTA to execute its strategic priorities. The Analyst will work with the Deputy Director of Capital Data Strategy and stakeholders across the MBTA to conduct quantitative analyses, develop insights using data visualization tools, and streamline processes to support internal decision-making.

Duties & Responsibilities
– Perform or conduct analyses of available data as they relate to the MBTA’s overall capital program including but not limited to asset information, project schedule and milestones, and financial data.
– Assist in the implementation of new technology solutions and business processes to improve the quality of analysis and inform decision making regarding the MBTA’s capital program.
– In collaboration with the Capital Program Planning team, support the development and integration of data visualization tools using ArcGIS, Tableau, and other platforms.
– Support annual asset performance data collection and submission activities, including Federal Transit Administration (FTA) transit asset management (TAM) reporting and the MassDOT Tracker.
– Work with Capital Program Planning and Asset Management partners to support integration of new data sources, scoring methodologies, and business processes associated with the Capital Needs Assessment (CNA).
– Identify opportunities to continue to improve MBTA policies and processes to maximize the impact of capital investments and improve transparency.
– Support the development of executive-level and public-facing presentations, memos, and other materials to support the overall Capital Program Planning team.
