Mobility Strategist

The Transportation Department is hiring a motivated Transportation Mobility Strategist who will be responsible for long range and comprehensive planning activities within the Mobility Strategy unit. The Mobility Strategy unit provides long-range transportation planning functions for the city, as well as support to rezoning review and support to other city and regional long-range planning efforts. Current and upcoming efforts for the Mobility Strategy unit include an update to the city Bike Plan, significant support to BRT station area planning and the update of the city’s Comprehensive Plan.

Activities include:

• Provide technical input on rezoning request cases
• Coordinate internally and externally on development projects
• Support long-range transportation planning efforts, other City and regional long-range plans, corridor studies, small area plans, etc.
• Serve as liaison to boards and commissions, including presenting at City Council, Planning Commission, etc.

The ideal candidate has knowledge in transportation planning and infrastructure, with the ability to provide consultation to other transportation staff and to other departments. The ability to engage in inclusive dialogue with a variety of internal and external audiences is a must, as well as a professional commitment to working towards the goals and initiatives of the City of Raleigh for transportation equity, accessibility, and sustainability.
