Operations Planning Intern

As an intern for the Bus Rapid Transit Operations/Operations Planning Unit, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement operational improvements and initiatives that support effective and efficient transit service throughout the region. You will work very closely with field operations staff, including Street Operations and Transit Control Center, to develop innovative operational strategies from observations and input collected directly from the field. You and the team are responsible for implementing and activating new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects from construction to revenue service, collaborating closely with each corridor project team and other internal departments.

You will focus specifically on BRT implementation and activation efforts for projects that are currently under-construction and/or operational, by (1) managing internal database for existing bus stops affected by BRT construction, and (2) assisting field operations staff with developing and communicating detours and temporary layovers during different stages of project implementation.
