Description

The Executive Director (ED) will lead and oversee the management of all activities pertaining to strategic planning, project delivery, business development, budgeting, financing, and personnel administration of the Environmental Finance Center (EFC). With assistance from senior level EFC staff, the Executive Director will be primarily responsible for designing, acquiring funding for, and implementing the multiple programs of the EFC and will manage other EFC staff to ensure completion of projects. This position will report to the Dean.

Description

The EFC works directly with environmental service providers, including local and state governments, federal agencies, utilities, associations, and other organizations. The EFC focuses on the financial and managerial issues of managing a wide range of environmental services. The EFC delivers its services through education events, direct assistance, applied research, tool development, and through advising environmental service providers and policymakers.

The Project Director will work with the EFC team on multiple projects across a wide range of environmental services. The Project Director will

– Manage projects funded by grants and contracts
– Lead workshops and webinars, including presenting at conferences
– Advise environmental service providers on program design, management, and finance
– Use financial spreadsheet tools to be used by environmental service providers
– Conduct research and policy analysis

The Project Director should expect to travel occasionally. The position is contingent upon the continuity of EFC funding.

Ideal candidates will have some substantive understanding of local government finance, environmental finance, or a similar field related to the EFC’s work. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable and effective in working with people, presenting to professional audiences, and have strong writing skills.
