Description
The Air Force is looking for several Palace Acquire Interns (PAQ Interns)–there are currently three vacancies (Nellis, McConnel, and Fairchild Air Force Bases), but there could be additional locations considered in the future. The PAQ Program offers a two-year developmental and rotational program for recent graduates that will expose you to every aspect of Air Force Civil Engineering.
The Air Force Civil Engineering Career Field encompasses a variety of occupations beyond traditional engineering, including architects, environmental professionals, biologists, planners, and more. During a PAQ Internship, you will work shoulder to shoulder with current AFCS Civilian Engineers on challenging and rewarding projects, where you will make real contributions and gain invaluable experience.
The type of planners that tend to do well in this environment are comprehensive, integrative, adaptive thinkers that are lifelong learners with good communication skills. We have a working culture that varies a bit from traditional municipal planning work settings.
Short version of the PAQ Program:
Must be:
- Recent graduate (withing two years) or current student
- BS or MS (or equivalent) in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Urban Studies, or similar program
- GPA of 2.96 or above
- US citizenship & ability to obtain a security clearance (generally no felonies or criminal record)
Benefits:
- Two-year developmental position starting at a GS-7 = $46,696 or GS-9 = $57,118 (dependent on education level), graduate the program at GS-11 = $ 69,107 or 12 = 82,830 (salary information can vary upward depending on work location)

This is a development program with annual promotions where yearly salary increases are granted based on performance and supervisory approval.
