About The Empowered Block:

The Empowered Block is a community development consultancy, driving equitable and inclusive community development. We offer advising services on affordable housing, economic development, community engagement, racial equity, and program evaluation. We also provide coaching to students and emerging professionals pursuing careers in community development.

Responsibilities:

This is a paid fellowship. As a consultant fellow, you will be a critical team member supporting the mission of our organization. Below are a few of the responsibilities we expect for a consultant fellow:

-Support contracted community development projects, with urban planning and policy technical skills and expertise.
-Interact with clients and team to schedule calls, provide updates on project status, and request information.
-Create engaging social media content with messages relevant to our Empowered Block community.
-Assist with event or meeting planning, including deck drafting and logistics.
-Track progress of assigned projects in our client management system.

Qualifications:

-Current graduate student studying public policy, urban planning, or a related field.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Strong project management and organizational skills.
-1-3 years of experience in community development
