Under limited supervision, performs supervisory, technical administrative and professional work in directing and coordinating the activities of the Planning Department to ensure the protection of the natural environment, the orderly growth and efficient administration of County resources. The Director of Planning is responsible for enforcement of land use ordinances such as those pertaining to subdivisions, mobile homes, flood damage prevention and others; and providing administrative supervision for code enforcement activities of the Department. The position is responsible for the formulation, implementation, modification and improvement of master and subsidiary plans for the County’s physical and community development, including the formulation of a comprehensive land use plan. Position is also responsible for serving as a technical advisor to the Board of County Commissioners and County Manager on matters relating to planning and development. Supervises a staff of professional, technical and support personnel. The Planning Director reports to the County Manager.

FHFA is dedicated to hiring a diverse and capable workforce. We are looking for interns pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics, Financial Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Statistics, or Mathematics.

This is a temporary appointment intended for the summer session not to exceed August 31, 2020, but may be extended without further competition.

Trainees will be involved in a variety of entry-level assignments designed to provide insight into the challenges and opportunities in the Federal Government.

FHFA has internship positions available throughout the agency. Trainees will be responsible for carrying out technical assignments for the mission offices within FHFA. Assignments may include the following: assist in basic research; qualitative and quantitative research; development of statistical and/or financial tables and graphic displays; data collection and analyses, etc. Trainees may also assist in preparing briefing papers, and/or position papers; assist in conducting financial research and presenting their findings, assist in the preparation of management reports, assist in the preparation of risk assessments, track and document changes, and/or collect and analyze data. Trainees will be involved in a variety of entry-level assignments designed to provide insight into the challenges and opportunities in the Federal Government.

Salary will be based on educational level.
