NCGrowth is now recruiting graduate students to work as Analysts for Summer 2020. We value our partnership with DCRP and look forward to another round of excellent planning students!

Analysts have the opportunity to work with NCGrowth staff, university faculty, and community and business leaders on projects such as:

· Assisting a rural county with the development of a small business incubator
· Tribal business development
· Connecting small farmers with institutional buyers
· Helping a tortilla manufacturer access new markets

Analysts work on a remote basis with occasional required travel. A typical projects consist of 100-150 hours of work done over the course of the summer or semester, but may extend longer depending on the analyst’s schedule and the project scope. Compensation is $20/hr. Analysts who join in Summer 2020 may stay on through their graduation pending successful project completion.

The Governor’s Entrepreneurship Council (“GEC”) has launched the North Carolina Entrepreneur Corps (link). This program is designed specifically to engage college students throughout the state in making NC government more entrepreneurial. Students will work together to solve key challenges identified by the NC Department of Information and Technology. Students may apply as teams or as individuals and will be grouped together to work remotely as entrepreneurship teams. Each team will be assigned both an entrepreneurial mentor from the GEC and a technical mentor from NCDIT. Over the semester (Feb-April 2020), students will go through the entrepreneurial process including idea generation, concept development, customer feedback, and creation of a final product. At the conclusion of the semester, the teams will present their projects and meet and take pictures with the Governor.
